An upright fire sprinkler is a heat-activated firefighting device installed above a sprinkler pipeline with its deflector facing upward. When the surrounding temperature reaches the sprinkler’s rated operating temperature, the glass bulb bursts and releases water over the protected area. The water stream first strikes the circular deflector and is then distributed in a controlled dome-shaped spray pattern. Upright sprinklers are particularly suitable for locations with exposed ceiling structures where downward-hanging sprinklers may be difficult to install or vulnerable to accidental damage. The sprinkler generally consists of a brass or zinc-coated body, heat-sensitive glass bulb, sealing assembly, threaded inlet and water-distribution deflector. Common connection sizes include ½ inch and ¾ inch, with different K-factors and nominal diameters available according to the hydraulic design. Different bulb colours indicate different temperature ratings, including 57°C, 68°C, 79°C, 93°C and higher ratings. Standard-response and quick-response models are available. The correct temperature rating, response type and approval must be selected according to the ambient conditions, hazard classification and approved fire-sprinkler design. Upright sprinklers are commonly installed in factories, warehouses, parking areas, basements, industrial buildings, plant rooms and commercial facilities. Each sprinkler activates individually when exposed to sufficient heat in its immediate area. Shivam Fire Enterprises supplies, installs, tests, commissions and maintains upright fire sprinklers in Pune and nearby areas. We provide complete sprinkler-system services, including design, hydraulic calculations, fire pumps, piping, alarm valves, flow switches and Annual Maintenance Contracts.
